WHAT IS A VOLUNTARY GOST CERTIFICATE OF QUALITY is a document that certifies the conformity of a product with the non-binding requirements set out in voluntary systems, standards, contracts, own regulations.

Limitations on certification

The Russian legislation categorically forbids to substitute the mandatory certification with the voluntary one, i.e. one cannot provide a voluntary document for the products that have mandatory requirements (for example, products included in the scope of the technical regulations of the Customs Union).

There are many voluntary certification systems in the Russian Federation that are registered in accordance with the established procedure by Rosstandart for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

The list of objects and requirements for those objects are determined by each system by its own rules. These lists can be found by contacting the owner of the system.

Voluntary certificates are issued by accredited certification bodies.
