Technical specifications is a document that sets out the technical specifications that the product, process or service must conform to, if necessary the technical specifications must also specify the procedures for establishing whether a product conforms to these specifications.

Technical specifications is a document that sets out the technical specifications that the product, process or service must conform to, if necessary the technical specifications must also specify the procedures for establishing whether a product conforms to these specifications.
Technical specifications can be a standard, part of a standard or a stand-alone document.
The technical specifications determine the main parameters, dimensions, properties, and operational characteristics of a product, list the components, spare parts or any additional items that must be included with it, specify its quality characteristics etc.
The acceptance/verification and delivery rules specify the procedures and conditions for carrying out control tests when the product is shipped by the manufacturer or delivered to the customer.
The control(test, analysis, measurement) methods section specifies: the methods for determining all the parameters and characteristics of the product, the relevant standards and requirements; sampling rules, rules for selecting equipment, materials and reagents; methods for preparing for and conducting the tests, analysis, taking measurements and processing the results.
The operating, transportation and storage section contains information on: how the product should be installed and operated, the packaging and transportation procedure; the kind of storage facilities that must be used for storing it as well as how long it can be stored.
There are specifications both for specific types of products as well as specifications shared by several types of products (the so called group specifications).
